As a lifetime photography enthusiast who appreciates great landscapes, wildlife, and people enjoying life, I have had seven wonderful experiences on American Cruise Lines adventures.

Most recently, my wife and I were able to experience the Maine Coast & Harbors cruise from the best vantage point possible-- the deck of American Cruise Lines’s newest ship, American Eagle. Not only was the camera busy capturing coastal Maine with its beautiful harbors and lighthouses, but I enjoyed making new friends with the ship’s crew and staff as well as fellow cruise guests.

The accommodations are comfortable, and the ship’s design makes living on board an entirely stress-free experience. I am consistently impressed with the talents of the ship’s crew, hotel staff, and food service personnel.  It really does feel like home after only a day or two on board.

Each day’s excursions, which are all logistically well planned, provided a great opportunity for a variety of beautiful views to be captured through the lens.

The food service crew never failed to delight with outstanding menu selections as well as a warm and friendly server for each of the day’s meals. The well-designed dining room provided another wonderful opportunity for making new friends or just sharing the day’s adventure with family. A variety of quick-fix meals were available on the aft third deck served from the Lookout CafĂ© outside the Sky Lounge. Eating outside on deck as Maine scenery slipped pass meant keeping the camera close at hand.

Although the deck space on the new catamaran style Eagle is slightly scaled down from the larger American Cruise Lines river ships, the pleasures experienced on board felt immense. American Glory, is soon to be available on American Cruise Lines itineraries as well.  I look forward to grabbing the camera equipment and stepping onboard another gorgeous American Cruise Lines ship soon.
